Pressing "Open" opens the Crypto Rate Viewer page. When you press the "Install web app" button on that page (on the Japanese page, it is labeled 「Web アプリをインストール」), a screen from the browser appears. The web app is installed using a browser feature. The icon appears on the home screen or in the app list (which one depends on the device and browser). What gets installed is a web app, not an app file (APK). The button does not appear in some browsers (such as on iPhone and iPad). In that case, you can use the app in the browser as it is. On our device (Galaxy S25, Chrome), we installed it with the "Install web app" button and confirmed that the icon appears in the app list and that it opens in full screen (October 4, 2026). No icon appeared on the home screen. We have not tested other models or browsers.

How to install the web app

Open https://crypto.microfund.co.jp/ in your smartphone's browser.
Press the "Install web app" button near the top of the page (on the Japanese page, it is labeled 「Web アプリをインストール」).
A screen from the browser appears. Read what it says and decide whether to install.

These steps are done by a person, on their own device.
The button does not appear in some browsers (such as on iPhone and iPad). In that case, you can use the app in the browser as it is, without installing. On our device (Galaxy S25, Chrome), we installed it with the "Install web app" button and confirmed that the icon appears in the app list and that it opens in full screen (October 4, 2026). No icon appeared on the home screen. We have not tested other models or browsers.
Even without installing, you can use the same screens by opening the URL above in a browser.

If no icon appears on the home screen

On some devices, the icon of an installed app does not appear on the home screen and appears only in the app list. This was also the case when we installed Crypto Rate Viewer on our Galaxy S25 (October 4, 2026).

On a Galaxy, in the app list (called the "Apps screen" on Galaxy), touch and hold the icon and tap "Add to Home". On other Android devices, in the app list, touch and hold the icon, then drag it to the home screen.

Galaxy has a setting under Settings → "Home screen" → "Add new apps to Home screen". Samsung's help says that when it is ON, installed apps are also placed on the home screen.

We have not confirmed whether this setting also works for web apps. When it is ON, it also applies when you install other apps. Please decide for yourself whether to change it. For an icon that is already installed, use the touch-and-hold steps above.

These steps and settings are written based on Samsung's and Google's help pages (as viewed on October 4, 2026). We have not tested them on a real device. Wording and steps may differ depending on the device and version.
